Batesville is governed by a Mayor and eight City Council members, each representing a Ward. The Mayor serves a four-year term and Council serve two-year terms. The Mayor and Council oversee city departments which are managed by Supervisors who are appointed by the Mayor.

Main Street, Suite #302 Batesville, AR 72501 (870) 793-3288 Scott Stalker, a lifelong resident of Batesville, was elected as Batesville City Attorney November, 1998. Scott is a Batesville High School graduate and took his Law Degree from the University of Arkansas. As well as serving Batesville as City Attorney, Scott has had a successful private law practice for 20 years. Scott's wife Kim is an elementary school teacher in the Southside School district. They have two children, McLain age 11 and John Todd age 7. |
