Batesville Parks and Recreation has several different facilities for its citizens. These include the Batesville Municipal Golf Course, Riverside, Kennedy Parks and Terry Sims Diamond Sports Complex. The Batesville Municipal Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole course with 2 different tee boxes for an 18 hole effect. Located at 1850 Chaney Drive the course has paved cart paths, a practice putting green, a fully equipped Pro Shop and Snack Bar, and cart and club rentals. Pro Shop hours are 7:00 a.m. until dark, Monday - Sunday. Below is a list of fees:

Riverside & Kennedy Parks are located on both sides of the beautiful White River. Riverside Park has playground equipment, a basketball court, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pitching, 5 pavilions with picnic tables, and bathroom facilities. We have recently completed a walking/bike trail along the riverbank. Pavilions may be used for parties, reunions, etc. by calling 870-698-2400 to make reservations. The rental fee is $20.00 per pavilion and covers the whole day. Kennedy Park located on the Southside of the river has a picnic area with a pavilion, bathroom facilities and the Mark House Memorial Boat Ramp.
The Batesville Riverwalk is a 1.2 mile Walking/Bike trail that follows the banks of the beautiful White River. There are two Overlooks at the beginning and end of the trail that give spectacular views of the river. The trail is lighted for night walking. This addition to Riverside Park is a great asset to our parks system.
Batesville currently has one public swimming pool. Fitzhugh Pool is located at 1990 Harrison. Our pool is staffed with certified lifeguards. The pool is planned to be opened Memorial Day weekend. Below are the pool hours and fees.

The City of Batesville owns and operates the Terry Sims Diamond Sports Complex. The Independence County Youth Athletics Association leases these fields from the City of Batesville and offers leagues for boys and girls T-Ball for ages 5 and 6 years old, Cal Ripkin pitching machine for 7 and 8 year old boys, Cal Ripkin Minor League for 9 and 10 year old boys and Cal Ripkin Major League for 11 and 12 year old boys. ICYAA also offers the Babe Ruth League for 13, 14 and 15 year old and Girls Softball for ages eight to 18. Youth Soccer Leagues are offered through the City of Batesville Parks and Recreation Department for boys and girls ages five to 14. All practices and games are held at the East Main Sports Complex. For more information regarding soccer, please call Lowan Lermitte at 870-698-2427.
Adult Softball Leagues are also offered at the Terry Sims Diamond Sports Complex for Spring and Summer. We have a variety of leagues including Men’s League, Church League and Coed.
