City Parks & Recreation
Batesville Parks and Recreation has several different facilities for its citizens. These include the Batesville Municipal Golf Course, Riverside and Kennedy Parks, Fitzhugh Ball Parks and Pool, and the North Complex Ball Parks and Pool. The Batesville Municipal Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole course with 2 different tee boxes for an 18 hole effect. Located at 1850 Chaney Drive the course has paved cart paths, a practice putting green, a fully equipped Pro Shop and Snack Bar, and cart and club rentals. Pro Shop hours are 7:00 a.m. until dark, Monday - Sunday. Below is a list of fees:

Riverside & Kennedy Parks are located on both sides of the beautiful White River. Riverside Park has playground equipment, a basketball court, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pitching, 5 pavilions with picnic tables, and bathroom facilities. We have recently completed a walking/bike trail along the riverbank. Pavilions may be used for parties, reunions, etc. for $20.00 by reservation only. Kennedy Park located on the Southside of the river has a picnic area with a pavilion, bathroom facilities and the Mark House Memorial Boat Ramp.
BATESVILLE RIVERWALK
The Batesville Riverwalk is a 1.2 mile Walking Bike trail that follows the banks of the beautiful White River. There are two Overlooks at the beginning and end of the trail that give spectacular views of the river. The trail is lighted for night walking. This addition to Riverside Park is a great asset to our parks system.
Batesville has a public swimming pool. Fitzhugh Pool is located at 1990 Harrison. Our pool is staffed with certified lifeguards. The pool is planned to be opened Memorial Day weekend. Below are the pool hours and fees.

The City's Ball Parks are under the direction of the Independence County Youth Athletics Association and Independence County Softball Association. Fizthugh Park has ICYAA leagues for T-Ball boys and girls 5 and 6 year-olds, Cal Ripkin pitching machine 7 and 8 year-olds, Cal Ripkin Minor League 9 and 10 year-olds and Cal Ripkin Major league 11-12 year-olds. The North Complex hosts ICYAA's Babe Ruth League 13,14 and 15 year-olds and Girls Softball 8 - 18 year-olds, age appropriate soccer leagues, and the Torpedos Swim Club. American Legion Baseball, High School Baseball, and adult softball fields are also located at the North Complex. 2013 Swim Lesson Registration forms are now available to print from this page or may be picked up at Batesville Parks and Recreation Department. 4 different Swim Lessons sessions will begin in June and range from ages 4-and up. Space is limited in each session and is on a first come-first serve basis so registrations need to be turned in as soon as possible.
