City Fire Department

Thank you City of Batesville.  New Fire Station #3, paid for with a 1/8 cent City sales tax.

 

Our New Aerial Fire Truck paid for with a 1/8 cent City sales tax.

The City of Batesville has a Class 3 Fire Rating.

The Batesville Fire Department has two fire stations. Station #1 is located at 393 E. College Street and Station #2 1055 Dogwood Drive. The department consist of Fire Chief Danny Russell, Assistant Fire Chief Brent Gleghorn, three Captains, six Drivers and eighteen Part-paid Firefighters. They have four Pumper Fire Trucks, a 55 foot Aerial Fire Truck, and a Rescue Truck.

 

Our Fire Department is very active in the community offering fire safety instructions for kids as well as on site tours of our facilities and equipment. The annual White River Firefighters games are held at our Fire Training Center. We also help out other departments in the city like changing light bulbs on our city stop lights.

 

 

In 2005 the Batesville Fire Department stayed busy. Our department responded to:

124 Other Runs
29 Rescue Calls

Batesville is extremly proud of its White River Fire Training Center. This facility includes a two-story burn building, smoke maze, four-story tower, confined space simulator training, two-bay engine building and large class room. This facility is managed by the White River Firefighters Association which consist of 15 area Fire Departments. With this state of the art training center, we are able to offer continuing training for our city and county firefighters as well as firefighters from across the state.
